Mike Evans and his agent have officially put the Tampa Bay Buccaneers on notice.

Apparently, the Bucs and the star wideout have been unable to get on the same page about a contract extension for over a year.

Evans’ camp set a September 9 deadline to discontinue contract talks with his team.

He’s entering the final year of his contract, so the Bucs would be wise to send him somewhere else if they can’t agree on terms to an extension, as he would just walk out as a free agent.

With that in mind, former NFL star Aqib Talib told Kay Adams on “Up & Adams” that the Detroit Lions would make perfect sense for him as his next destination.

Why Mike Evans to the @Lions makes a lot of sense…

Talib explained that the Lions just need one guy who could get them over the top, and Evans might be him, considering he could give them 1,000 yards and 10+ touchdowns per year.

He stated that he could feed off their talented group of young receivers, stating that they should be the top team in their division.

More importantly, the Lions can actually afford to sign him to a big contract, which is also a major factor here.

Evans wants to play for a Super Bowl contender, and while the Lions aren’t the clear-cut favorite, they’re a much better team than the Buccaneers.

He’s one of the best wideouts in the game and has been very productive throughout his career, but it’ll remain to be seen if any team is willing to commit big bucks to him at this point in his career.
