The Miami Dolphins still have a chance to finish the regular season with the best record in the AFC.

And while their defense has taken a big step forward over the past three weeks or so, their offense is obviously the main reason behind their success.

With that in mind, one guy should stand out from the rest of the pack in terms of being the most valuable player of the team — and even perhaps of the league.

That’s why former NFL star Chad Johnson didn’t hesitate to express his support for Tyreek Hill as this season’s MVP.

Notably, Hill is actually a top-10 candidate with +1500 odds, but he has no realistic shot at winning the distinction, even though he’s been the most dominant offensive player in the league by a wide margin among all players not named Christian McCaffrey.

Through 12 games, Hill has led the league with 1,481 receiving yards and 12 touchdown receptions.

He also leads the league in yards per game (123.4) and yards per touch (15.3).

Hill is well on the path to becoming the first wide receiver to eclipse the 2,000-yard mark.

And while some could put an asterisk next to that record because he’ll have an extra regular-season game to do it, he might as well do it in just 16 games.

Even so, we’ve seen this kind of thing happen way too many times.

The MVP is now a QB-exclusive award, and it doesn’t matter how dominant skill players or defensive players are, they simply won’t get any serious consideration.
