The Minnesota Timberwolves sent a clear message in Game 1.
Chris Finch’s team’s regular-season success wasn’t a fluke, and even though they lost a key matchup to the Denver Nuggets late in the season, they were clearly more than ready to play in the first game of this series.
With that in mind, former NBA coach George Karl took to Twitter to express some of his concerns for the Nuggets ahead of the remainder of the series.
Karl suggested that Mike Malone give Christian Braun more playing time.
That way, they will be able to double Anthony Edwards — who he called the most talented player in the series — more often.
This is gonna be tough for Denver. They have to answer some big questions. Minne has the defensive and offensive skills, length and maybe the most talented player in the Series.

Karl believes the Timberwolves have enough talent on both ends of the floor to give the reigning NBA champions a lot of trouble.
The Nuggets handled them in just five games last season, but they’ve clearly made great strides ever since.
The Timberwolves have one of the most talented and physical frontcourt in the game, with Rudy Gobert anchoring the paint and Karl-Anthony Towns spreading the floor with his shooting.
Then, Naz Reid can become a bruiser down low with his physicality or move to the corner with his three-point shooting.
Of course, the Nuggets are also a savvy team and they have championship experience, which can never be overlooked.
All things considered, this series is going to be quite difficult to predict, and while Denver should still be more than capable of coming back and winning, it wouldn’t be shocking to see the Timberwolves take care of business as well.
