Klay Thompson made his choice on Monday and is now officially a member of the Dallas Mavericks.
The addition of Thompson gives the Mavericks one of the best shooters of all time, but does he hurt them as well?
Appearing on “The Carton Show,” Eddie House said the Mavericks will be helped offensively by Thompson but will also be hurt defensively.
“As far as the offense, I think that they definitely upgraded. Defensively, they’re looking like they could be a liability,” House said.

Thompson has had his fair share of struggles from the floor over the last season but he is still considered one of the best point-makers of all time.
If he is able to return to form with the Mavericks, he will give them a massive boost offensively.
However, Dallas already has two of the best shooters in the league, Luka Doncic and Kyrie Irving.
Therefore, is Thompson really all that necessary?
Additionally, the Mavericks need help on defense and that is not an area of expertise for Thompson.
So the Mavericks will now have multiple stars who can shoot from all over the court but lack the defensive skills to slow down a number of NBA opponents.
This could be a huge problem for Dallas moving forward.
Of course, the Mavericks might not be done making moves and could acquire more talent in the days and months ahead.
Perhaps they can solve their defensive problem and come into the new season with more power on both ends of the court.
Their offense will get stronger with Thompson but the Mavericks need more than that if they wish to win the Finals.
