This year’s NBA Draft is considered by many experts to be a relatively weak draft.

There is no one even close to the realm that Victor Wembanyama, the recently crowned Rookie of the Year, has inhabited, and there may not be a clear-cut No. 1 choice this time around.

The rebuilding Utah Jazz will have the No. 10 pick in this year’s draft, and with the draft combine taking place in Chicago, one has to wonder if they may make a move to trade that pick for some immediate help.

Former NBA guard B.J. Armstrong, who won three NBA championships with Michael Jordan and the Chicago Bulls in the early 1990s, feels Jazz executive Danny Ainge is “up to something,” per Hoop Genius.

Armstrong said he recently saw Ainge, and that Ainge hasn’t sent scouts to the combine.

Two offseasons ago, Utah hit the proverbial reset button by trading All-Stars Rudy Gobert and Donovan Mitchell for a king’s ransom, which netted them many draft picks in the years to come.

They went 31-51 this season, and it will take quite a bit of work for them to get back to being a playoff team.

One player some feel they could move is Lauri Markkanen, their best player who averaged 23.2 points and 8.2 rebounds a game this season.

Trading Markkanen could especially make sense if Ainge decides to try to tank next season and receive a very high pick in the 2025 draft.

In that case, there should be a number of teams that would be interested in the 26-year-old 7-footer.
