Former Player Blames Coaching Staff For 1 NFC Team’s Struggles

At one point during the 2023 NFL regular season, the defending NFC champion Philadelphia Eagles looked like an elite team and in contention for being the best team in the league as they sported the best record in the NFL at 10-1.

Unfortunately, the Eagles were exposed not longer after winning 10 of their first 11 games of the 2023 campaign, and now it seems that no team in the league is fearing Jalen Hurts and company with the start of the NFL playoffs right around the corner.

After inspired wins over the Dallas Cowboys, Kansas City Chiefs, and Buffalo Bills in consecutive weeks, the Eagles have lost four out of their last five games, with their latest loss being arguably the most embarrassing of them all as they fell to the lowly Arizona Cardinals in Philadelphia.

A lot of the blame for the team’s struggles of late has been put on the players, namely, stars Hurts and A.J. Brown, but James Jones of FOX Sports believes the coaches need to shoulder some of the blame for the team falling apart via Speak On FS1.

“I understand that players make plays, but at the end of the day the coaches put the players in the best situations to succeed, and that’s what we’re not seeing consistently,” Jones said.

Unless the Eagles can drastically turn things around in Week 18 against the division-rival New York Giants on the road at MetLife Stadium, Hurts and company could be headed toward an early playoff exit.

The San Francisco 49ers currently lead the way in the NFC, followed by the Cowboys and Detroit Lions, and it’s looking like each one of these teams can end Philadelphia’s season with relative ease if they meet in the postseason.

It’ll be interesting to see if this team can turn things around, or if not, what changes might be made during the offseason.
