The New York Jets have a big problem at the QB position, and if this feels like something you’ve read, heard, or thought before, that’s because it is.
This was the concern as soon as Aaron Rodgers fell with a potential season-ending injury, and it continues to be it after nine games have gone by.
HC Robert Saleh made it loud and clear that they intended to roll with Zach Wilson as the QB going forward, and the team didn’t even try to trade for a veteran ahead of the trade deadline, which, in hindsight, seems like a big mistake.
Saleh ‘pleaded the fifth’ when asked about his thoughts on benching Wilson during the loss to the Los Angeles Chargers, which, for the first time, makes people think that he’s no longer happy with the third-year signal-caller.
With that in mind, former NFL player Willie Colon stated that Saleh just cannot hide it anymore (via The Carton Show).
“Saleh can’t hide anymore. You can’t ignore the tape anymore. It’s so glaringly atrocious right now for the New York Jets.”

Per Colon, the tape shows that Zach Wilson’s apparent improvement from earlier in the season was a fluke, and it’s not an issue related to the offensive coordinator anymore.
They thought Nathaniel Hackett would be better for him, but the results have been pretty much the same.
The Jets don’t have any big-name backup who could take over and take the reins from Zach, and that’s on them.
They had more than enough time to address that issue and get an insurance policy for their ever-struggling QB, and they’re just reaping what they sowed.
