The Minnesota Timberwolves have two former No. 1 overall picks on their roster.
However, it seems like only one has come to play.
Once again, Karl-Anthony Towns has left plenty to be desired when it matters the most, and he needs to do better if his team wants to stand a chance to stave off elimination.
That’s why former NBA player Tim Legler called him out and urged him to step up once and for all.
Talking on ESPN’s “First Take,” Legler stated that as great as Anthony Edwards has been, he’s also been bottled up at times, which is why he needs his All-Star-caliber teammate to take a leap forward.

Granted, Aaron Gordon has played spectacular defense on him, and he’s worn him out on the other end of the floor as well.
Nonetheless, we’re talking about one of the best shooting big men in league history, so he should play like that.
The Timberwolves couldn’t get over the hump with Towns as the leader, and they needed Jimmy Butler and now Edwards to be at their best.
His character has often been doubted as he has a worrisome tendency to disappear in big moments, and that’s something this team simply cannot afford at this point.
The Timberwolves proved that they could beat the Denver Nuggets, but they’ve been far from impressive in their past three contests.
At the end of the day, basketball is a team sport first and foremost, and the supporting cast is failing their best player right now.
