The NBA has 30 organizations battling it out over the course of a regular season to ultimately lift the prestigious Larry O’Brien trophy.

While the competition in the league is at an all-time high now, fans would love to see a new rivalry budding between two NBA teams.

After all, no two teams have faced off against each other in the NBA Finals a second time in the last five years.

Former NBA player Tim Legler recently had a detailed discussion about the same in an interview with JJ Redick via “The Old Man & The Three” podcast on Twitter.

“We would love to see it because it just brings so much more to your analysis, and when you sit down and watch a game, when that actually exists and it’s not manufactured,” Legler said.

The topic was originally started by Redick as he wondered about the lack of good modern-day rivalries in the NBA since the Golden State Warriors vs. Cleveland Cavaliers epic matchups in the Finals.

Redick finished his question by asking if there are any budding rivalries in the league right now.

Well, Legler claimed that there are no such rivalries in the NBA right now.

While he claimed it would indeed make their job easier as NBA analysts, trying to create good rivalries out of the blue would do more harm than good.

There are indeed a few NBA teams who could take over the helm from the likes of the Warriors and Cavaliers to keep entertaining fans all around the globe.

A few young teams, like the Minnesota Timberwolves and Oklahoma City Thunder, are rising to stardom.

Could they become the teams to beat in the NBA over the next few years?
