Former NBA star Jeff Teague got into a bit of hot water lately when he said that he’d choose James Harden over Dwyane Wade when it comes to the best shooting guards of all time.

As you can imagine, that invoked quite a response from NBA fans all over.

Now Teague is adding fuel to the fire by clarifying why he would select Harden over Wade.

“Rings don’t matter to me,” Teague said, according to Complex Sports, via NBACentral.

“When I go to the park, I see a little kid playing like Harden. I don’t really see little kids playing like D. Wade,” he added.

With these new comments, Teague is sure to get more pushback from fans.

Regardless of what Teague says, many people will point to the fact that Wade has three championship rings while Harden has none.

They will also say that Wade has been loyal to his teams while Harden hasn’t quite fit in and has bounced around the league, seemingly unhappy from one place to the next.

However, Teague’s statement holds some truth.

There are many young players who want to focus on iso-ball and three-pointers like Harden.

They aren’t worried about rings, either.

Instead, they just want to play well against their opponents, usually when it’s a one-on-one possession.

Yet, Harden might be more impactful on today’s generation because he is still playing the game while Wade has been retired for some time.

Modern kids might not value Wade as much because they simply don’t see him play anymore.

This is a debate that is sure to go on for some time and many opinions will be shared.

In fact, Teague himself might have more to say soon.
