After the New York Giants failed to sign Saquon Barkley to a contract extension, the situation has been at the top of NFL headlines.

Nearly all NFL news outlets are talking about the current value of running backs across the league.

In a segment on “Get Up” on ESPN, Domonique offered a piece of advice to Barkley.

Foxworth indicated that Barkley shouldn’t play this year, saying, “This may be his last opportunity to get the big payday that I think his talent deserves.”

He recognized that Barkley could still play for $10 million this season, acknowledging that this is a large sum of money.

However, Foxworth also believes this isn’t a fair amount for Barkley, saying, “It’s not commensurate with the value he’s provided for this team.”

While many have publicly spoken out about the state of running back contracts, they have also recommended that Barkley should suit up this season.

Foxworth is one of the only analysts to encourage Barkley to stay off the field.

The Giants’ training camp will begin on July 25, an event that Barkley is not expected to be at.

Barkley has been a dominant force whenever he has been on the field, continuing to be among the league leaders in rushing yards.

If he does end up sitting out, it could impact the Giants’ chances of making the playoffs, given the amount of rushing attempts he had last season.

This is a situation to monitor moving forward, especially for Giants fans.
