Good NFL players dominate in the regular season, but great players do it in the playoffs.

That’s just a fact, and it happens in all major sports, not just in the National Football League.

That’s why the fans and analysts have been so ruthless about Lamar Jackson.

It’s one thing to see a player play somewhat good vs. bad teams and then struggle vs. good teams, just like with Dak Prescott.

Expectations are never as high with him because he has failed to show that he can dominate.

Jackson, however, is an MVP-caliber player in the regular season, regardless of the opponent, and then falls flat on his face come postseason time.

That’s why former NFL player James Jones believes he’ll have to just deal with the criticism until he’s able to prove people wrong.

Talking on FOX Sports, Jones stated that the criticism was fair because he’s not the same player we see in the regular season as soon as the playoffs start (via Kevin Oestreicher).

James Jones has a message for Lamar Jackson

“He’s gonna have to embrace the criticism…. At best in the playoffs he’s average…The criticism is absolutely fair because he’s not the Lamar Jackson we’re used to seeing in the playoffs vs. the regular season” pic.twitter.com/ORli49oOc4

Jackson is undoubtedly one of the best quarterbacks in the game.

He’s the ultimate scrambler and a guy who can hurt opposing defenses with his legs and his arms alike.

His production then takes a big dip when the playoffs start.

He looks hesitant and overly conscious, and it often leads to mistakes.

With great talent comes great responsibility.

So, until proven otherwise, he’ll just have to suck it up and embrace the criticism.
