The Minnesota Timberwolves have been a part of the NBA since the 1989-90 season but have managed to reach the postseason just 11 times during their time in the league.
While the Timberwolves have struggled to be a relevant team in the NBA for most of their history, the organization’s fortunes changed when they drafted Anthony Edwards as the number one overall pick in the 2020 NBA Draft.
Edwards has established himself as one of the best players in the league over the past few years.
The 22-year-old has truly taken the next step this season, which has propelled him into stardom in the eyes of most NBA fans.
Keeping that in mind, former NBA player Austin Rivers recently heaped huge praise on the Timberwolves superstar via NBA on ESPN on Twitter.

Rivers pointed out that Edwards is truly having one of the best stretches of his career right now.
With that being said, Rivers hailed Edwards as the best guard in the NBA this season.
After all, Edwards is averaging 26.1 points, 5.4 rebounds, and 5.0 assists per game for the Timberwolves this season.
A key factor when considering Edwards as the best guard in the league is the fact that his numbers are converting into victories for the Minnesota Timberwolves in the 2023-24 NBA season.
The organization has surpassed all expectations this season as they are currently the number one seed in the Western Conference, with an amazing 30-11 record.
If Edwards can manage to play at the current level, it won’t be a surprise if leads the Timberwolves to the Western Conference Finals and possibly the NBA Finals as well.
