The Dallas Cowboys haven’t been to the Super Bowl in quite a while, and it doesn’t seem like that’s going to change any time soon.
However, former NFL player Damien Woody believes they actually have what it takes to get over the hump this season.
In his latest appearance on ESPN’s “Get Up,” Woody made a case for the Cowboys coming out of the NFC, as they revamped their roster by pairing CeeDee Lamb with another playmaker like Brandin Cooks, not to mention the fact that they also added a former Defensive Player of the Year in Stephon Gilmore.
“Dallas could absolutely represent the NFC in the Super Bowl this year.”

Of course, the Cowboys are stacked on both ends of the field, and they should be considered a legit threat out of the NFC East.
Nonetheless, head coach Mike McCarthy has left a lot to be desired in terms of decision-making throughout the years, and their new-look offense is a big question mark.
On top of that, Dak Prescott’s presence seems to be holding this team back, and they don’t have a serviceable backup or the sense of urgency to move on from him at quarterback.
Besides, the Philadelphia Eagles and San Francisco 49ers have both repeatedly proven to be in a tier of their own in the NFC, and the Cowboys have struggled mightily against winning teams, especially in the playoffs.
Anything can happen in the league, and we’ve seen crazier things go down.
But barring a miracle, it’s highly unlikely that the Cowboys will be able to fulfill Woody’s prophecy.
