The Indianapolis Colts added some pass-rush power in the NFL Draft this year.
With the No. 15 overall pick, they selected UCLA edge-rusher Laiatu Latu.
GM Chris Ballard clearly wanted to address the pass-rush, and he got arguably one of the best in the draft in Latu.
Former Colts defensive back Darius Butler appeared on Up & Adams recently to chat about why he thinks Latu will win NFL Defensive Rookie of the Year.
“I gotta go Latu. Saw Chris Ballard on draft night. He said, ‘we got the best edge-rusher in the draft’…I think he’ll get after it,” Butler predicted.

After transferring from Washington in 2022, Latu took the country by storm.
He recorded a total of 23.5 sacks, 34 tackles for loss, and a couple of interceptions too.
He joins a Colts defense that has good players in defensive tackle DeForest Buckner, defensive back Kenny Moore, and other stout difference-makers.
Remember, the Colts were a team that finished ranked 5th in the league in sacks (51.0) in 2023.
It is going to be a nightmare for other teams now because they added more firepower off the edge.
In a division with C.J. Stroud and Trevor Lawrence, the Colts want their defense to be a weapon.
Now, longtime defensive coordinator Gus Bradley gets another quarterback hunter that he can unleash.
They added Buckner a few years ago.
Then, they landed Kwity Paye, Grover Stewart, and Tyquan Lewis.
Now, they get a stud in Latu.
