Back in June, the Minnesota Vikings made the surprising move to release four-time Pro Bowl running back Dalvin Cook.

Although there had been rumors of a trade in the works and teams possibly lining up to acquire the talented back, nothing came to fruition and Cook was made a free agent.

The consensus was that once Cook hit NFL free agency that it wouldn’t take long before he was swooped up by another team looking to bolster their run game with an elite back.

That didn’t happen despite the rumors of the Miami Dolphins having an interest in bringing him in, and now things have changed drastically with the veteran back set to visit with the new-look New York Jets, who former NFL star T.J. Houshmandzadeh believes is bringing him in for a visit with every intention of signing him, via Speak On FS1.

What does Aaron Rodgers’ new deal mean for the Jets?

Earlier this week, Jets starting quarterback Aaron Rodgers agreed to take a substantial pay cut and more or less committed to playing in New York season.

Houshmandzadeh believes that Rodgers took this massive pay cut in order to allow the Jets to sign Cook and officially make New York the most intimidating offense in the NFL ahead of the 2023 season.

Rodgers taking a substantial pay reduction out of nowhere before having played a single down for the Jets may be a sign that the team has the edge in signing Cook and is more than willing to throw some money at him, unlike other teams.
