The Los Angeles Lakers have a big decision in front of them, and it’s not theirs to make.

While they continue their pursuit of a new head coach, LeBron James is reportedly weighing his future.

James talked about not having that much time left to play, but retirement seems like a long shot at this point.

Free agency, however, is a realistic option.

James can opt out of the final year of his contract to pursue free agency and either sign with a new team or get a new deal with the Lakers.

With that in mind, former NBA star Tim Hardaway predicted that he wouldn’t go anywhere.

Talking on The Carton Show, Hardaway stated that James wasn’t going to switch teams at this point in his career.

Still, the panel agreed that James staying in Los Angeles pretty much meant he wasn’t going to win another NBA championship in his career.

Even if that’s the case, it makes sense for LeBron.

Playing for a fourth team might not be the best, legacy-wise, for a player of his caliber.

This way, he can state that he won a ring with every team he played for.

Also, James’ entire family and business operation is in Los Angeles, so it would make no sense for him to move to, say, the East Coast.

LeBron is going to make the most of his leverage to make sure the Lakers make the moves he wants them to make, and then, he’s going to run it back in Los Angeles.
