It’s the dawn of a new era for the Los Angeles Lakers.
Following weeks of speculation, JJ Redick has finally put his signature on paper and will have his first actual coaching experience.
Needless to say, there will always be major doubts with rookie coaches.
Redick has an extensive background as an analyst and retired recently, so he’s up to date with everything that’s going on in the league, other team’s tendencies, and modern basketball.
Nonetheless, if some outside of the team doubt him, it only makes sense that some within the organization also have their doubts.
That’s why former NBA star Tim Hardway thinks he won’t have an easy job.
Talking on The Carton Show, Hardaway stated that he’s going to have to win the whole team over.

While he already has a solid relationship with LeBron, he’ll have to show the rest of the guys what kind of coach and what kind of relationship he wants to have with them.
He’ll have to be very careful in the way he addresses James and the rest of the players, and that will be the most important thing about his credibility.
In hindsight, James and Redick may have serious regrets about launching a podcast together, as successful as it could’ve been.
Not only was it short lived because of Redick’s new professional obligations, but it also raised some questions about who’s truly going to be calling the shots in Los Angeles, and that’s not what a rookie coach needs.
