The Philadelphia 76ers entered the offseason looking for one more piece to add to their roster.

They have been close to making a deep playoff run in recent seasons, but for whatever reason, they’ve failed to get over the hump.

A player like Ben Simmons was supposed to take “the process” to the next level, but he ended up being a bust.

James Harden also couldn’t take them as far as they’d hoped, and now, he’s on the Los Angeles Clippers.

Thankfully for 76ers fans, Paul George decided to sign with the team, injecting new life and a veteran presence to this roster.

George will join Joel Embiid and Tyrese Maxey in Philadelphia, hoping to be an unstoppable trio.

Theo Ratliff recently spoke about George’s potential impact in a segment of SiriusXM NBA.

“One thing that Paul George does that James Harden didn’t do is play defense… He does the utility work along with getting buckets,” Ratliff said.

George has been on the NBA’s All-Defensive first team on two separate occasions and has also been on the All-Defensive second team twice.

His defensive impact on this team cannot be understated, especially when considering the 76ers’ competition in the Eastern Conference.

Teams like the Boston Celtics, New York Knicks, and Miami Heat aren’t going away; if anything, they’re getting stronger.

Adding George was a big move for the 76ers, but they need to keep their foot on the gas and be aggressive in the upcoming season.

Otherwise, it could be another disappointing year for this team.
