Part of the challenge of running any successful NFL franchise is dealing with the line of players looking for their well-earned payday for contributing to that success.
And while the Dallas Cowboys suffer perhaps more than their fair share of criticism for the extended lack of playoff success, there is no question that they are in the mix as one of the league’s better clubs.
Now it’s time to pay the piper, but which piper will Cowboys management pay?
Former NFL player Darius Butler told Kay Adams that the team must reach long-term agreements with quarterback Dak Prescott and linebacker Micah Parsons, via “Up & Adams.”
Dak Prescott, Micah Parsons and CeeDee Lamb… which TWO should the #Cowboys prioritize locking down long term??

He was offered star wide receiver CeeDee Lamb as another option for team brass to focus on but was only allowed two choices – and they were Prescott and Parsons.
While Butler proclaimed his love for Lamb, he emphasized that, as a GM, he would not prioritize the needs of a wide receiver over those of a franchise quarterback and star pass rusher.
The focus is particularly on Prescott, who signed a massive four-year, $160 million contract to lead the team three years ago.
He is set to earn $29 million this fall in Texas and will be able to test the free-agent waters afterward.
There will be considerable pressure on the Cowboys to ink the quarterback to a new deal and not deal with the situation at season’s end, but who knows what will transpire?
But, as Harris correctly noted, teams must prioritize their quarterbacks to ensure stability at the NFL’s most important position.
