The Minnesota Vikings have been a massive topic of conversation through five weeks of NFL action.
They entered the season with hopes of winning the NFC North, having a much better chance to do so without Aaron Rodgers in the division.
With a 1-4 start, however, those dreams are essentially over.
The conversation around the Vikings has now shifted to contract talks, many of those revolving around Kirk Cousins.
Cousins is in the last year of his deal with the Vikings.
Some are suggesting he should get traded, including James Jones, who recently suggested a reunion with the Washington Commanders in a segment of “Speak” on FS1.

Cousins played for the Commanders for six seasons before signing with the Vikings.
He was a beloved figure within the locker room, but it ultimately seemed like he needed a fresh start.
Now that Cousins has played well for the past several seasons, it might be time for another change.
There have been plenty of rumors that the Vikings will not be able to extend him past the 2023 season, a potential reason for him to get traded now.
As Jones mentions, a trade partner could have more time to get a contract together, working with Cousins to satisfy his needs.
Plus, the Commanders have a lot of young players on the offensive side of the ball, giving Cousins a chance to work with budding stars.
He has helped Justin Jefferson solidify his role as one of the league’s top receivers and could do the same with the Commanders’ pass-catchers.
