After losing the Super Bowl to the Kansas City Chiefs following the 2022 NFL regular season, the Philadelphia Eagles were thought to be the cream of the crop in the NFC and a legitimate force to be reckoned with for years to come.
Unfortunately for Philadelphia, the 2023 campaign was forgettable, to say the least, as the Eagles started strong in their attempt to return to the Super Bowl but flamed out epically during the second half of the regular season, leading to an early playoff exit at the hands of Baker Mayfield and the Tampa Bay Buccaneers.
After an impressive showing the year prior, the Eagles failed to live up to expectations and were thought to be ready to make some drastic changes, namely with the coaching staff, with head coach Nick Sirianni presumably on the hot seat.
Despite all the doubts about Sirianni being the right person for the job, Philadelphia decided to keep him for at least one more season.
Now, former NFL player James Jones doesn’t think Sirianni should be on the hot seat in 2024, via “Speak” on FS1.
“What do we want out of head coaches? Win! My man is 34-17 and has never missed the playoffs,” Jones said.

Although Jones is saying Sirianni should not be in danger of losing his job during or after the upcoming season, the fact is, the fan base in Philadelphia can be ruthless and demand success from their Eagles, which puts pressure on their head coach to make the team a winner.
Only time will tell what the future holds for Sirianni, but if the Eagles struggle again, he might not be long for the job.
