The Denver Nuggets looked poised to win back-to-back NBA championships or at least make it to the NBA Finals again.
Then, the Minnesota Timberwolves made sure to put an end to those aspirations, taking care of business with back-to-back wins in Games 6 and 7.
Mike Malone’s team fought hard and climbed it’s way back in this series after losing the first two games at home, but eventually, they couldn’t finish the job.
According to former NBA star Tim Hardaway, plenty of that had to do with Bruce Brown’s absence.

Talking on The Carton Show, Hardaway stated that they missed their energy guy off the bench, stating that Brown was a difference-maker on both ends of the floor last season.
Per Hardaway, the Nuggets didn’t get much production from their second unit, which was never an issue with Brown.
Granted, Brown didn’t post All-Star-caliber numbers, but his energy on both ends was contagious, and his impact went way beyond the stat sheet.
He was a guy who could guard one through four, and he even played some small-ball five at times.
He was an energetic slasher and strong finisher, and a guy who could also knock down shots from beyond the arc.
Brown played his way into a big contract last season, and while he was traded midway through the campaign, he could’ve still been a major factor for multiple teams.
So, as much as the Nuggets still kept their championship core together, they were clearly missing their X-Factor off the bench.
