Right now, the San Francisco 49ers are the consensus pick to win the Super Bowl championship, and some feel they simply look unstoppable.
They have had arguably the NFL’s best defense for quite a while, but now, their offense has become beastly, as quarterback Brock Purdy, the so-called “Mr. Irrevelent” of the 2022 draft, has lifted his ceiling with his impressive skill sets.
The question is which team in the NFL has the best chance of upending the Niners come playoff time?
Some would say the Dallas Cowboys or the Detroit Lions, or perhaps the Baltimore Ravens, who will play San Francisco on Monday.
But former quarterback Chase Daniel said on “The Dan Patrick Show” that the Los Angeles Rams, the Niners’ longtime NFC West rivals, have the best shot at sending the Niners home early.
“Their probably the only team that can contend with the 49ers in my opinion.”

At first glance, it would seem like a ludicrous statement, given that the Rams are 8-7 and aren’t a lock to even make the playoffs.
They’re a team in transition, as they have lost some key members of their 2021 Super Bowl championship team, and they’re therefore relying on some young players at some key positions.
But L.A. has won five of their last six games, and they have beaten some decent teams, including the New Orleans Saints, who they defeated on Thursday.
Rookie wide receiver Puka Nacua is already a star with 1,327 yards and five touchdowns while running back Kyren Williams has infused the team.
In addition, quarterback Matthew Stafford and wideout Cooper Kupp — two of the Rams’ key players — may be returning to form after being banged up.
The big question for the Rams may be their defense, which has struggled at times this year, but in a one-game playoff, anything is possible.
