For whatever reason, some NBA fans have always tried to take Stephen Curry down.
Despite being one of the best players in the league and someone who rarely did much talking, the talk about Curry was that he wasn’t even the best player on his team because he hadn’t won a Finals MVP.
His first Finals win resulted in the MVP award going to Andre Iguodala for “locking LeBron James up,” even though James averaged 35.8 points, 13.3 rebounds, and 8.8 assists in that NBA Finals series.
Then, Kevin Durant got the next two, even though they had pretty similar stats.
That’s why Steph was so frustrated when he had a bad game in the four-game sweep of the Cleveland Cavaliers in 2018, knowing that Durant was going to get the award again.
In his latest appearance on Gilbert Arenas’ “Gil’s Arena” show, Nick Young revealed that Steph was very frustrated and on the verge of crying for not getting the award (via NBACentral).

Arenas added that all players care about that stuff, even if they say they don’t.
Fortunately for him, Steph was able to lead his team back to the NBA Finals, and he finally got his well-deserved Finals MVP award.
That put an end to the only criticism some people could’ve had against him.
He won two rings without Durant and was also a league MVP before his arrival.
So, what are they going to say now?
