Former Player Says Thunder Player Should Be MVP

The Oklahoma City Thunder are clearly ahead of schedule.

This team went from getting the No. 2 pick in the NBA Draft to becoming the No. 1 seed in the Western Conference in two years.

Chet Holmgren played all 82 games and was a major factor on both ends of the floor, and Sam Presti has clearly done an outstanding job of finding value and talent in the draft.

Also, Mark Daigneault deserves plenty of credit for how he’s developed this team.

Even so, it’s more than evident that Shai Gilgeous-Alexander is the main reason why they’re here now.

That’s why former NBA player Eddie House believes he should be a no-brainer pick for MVP.

“SGA should be the MVP.”

Talking on The Carton Show, he stated that not only is Shai the best player on the best team in the Western Conference, but the fact that the Thunder took the league by storm out of the blue makes it even more impressive.

He stated that most people thought they were going to be in the bottom half of the playoff picture or even a Play-In Tournament team, which obviously wasn’t the case.

The Thunder have been no worse than the No. 3 seed all season long, and Shai is putting up huge numbers while also being an elite defender on the other end of the floor.

Even so, as of now, it seems like Nikola Jokic is going to win the award for the third time in the last four years, and while he’s also earned it, perhaps it’s Shai’s turn to get it.
