Going back to the days of the Los Angeles Rams being in St. Louis, Missouri, the storied franchise had one of the best offenses in the NFL led by superstar quarterback Kurt Warner and other offensive stars like Marshall Faulk, Torry Holt and Isaac Bruce.
Unfortunately for the Rams, once the best show on turf came to an end, the franchise struggled for quite some time and was basically nothing more than a mediocre team in the NFC that struggled to compete with the best of the best in the conference.
That all started to turn around, with head coach Jeff Fisher providing some stability for the franchise and a few talented players coming into the fold, such as running back Todd Gurley and wide receiver Tavon Austin.
Although Austin will never be considered one of the greatest wide receivers in NFL history, he was highly productive for the Rams in St. Louis and when the team eventually moved to Los Angeles.
With Austin not having played in the NFL since 2021 during a short stint with the Jacksonville Jaguars, the former Rams star decided to call it a career this week, according to Ari Meirov of The 33rd Team.

During his nine-year career in the NFL, Austin played for four different teams, with stops with the Dallas Cowboys, Green Bay Packers and Jaguars, but he will be remembered mostly for his time with the Rams.
Austin’s playing career in the NFL comes to an end with the veteran wide receiver finishing with 244 receptions, 3,600 yards from scrimmage and a total of 26 touchdowns.
