It’s been quite a while since we last saw coach George Karl in the NBA, but he’s still making the rounds.

Often unapologetic, Karl has become viral on Twitter multiple times for his bold remarks, especially when it comes to his former players.

Notably, Carmelo Anthony became his latest business.

In a recent episode of Melo’s 7 PM in Brooklyn podcast, he talked about how coach Karl rubbed him the wrong way and disrespected him as soon as the Denver Nuggets hired him.

Coach Karl pulled Melo aside, and the very first thing he told him was that he thought he was vastly overrated and had a lot of work to do, adding that he should have a role similar to Detlef Schrempf.

Needless to say, Anthony, who was in his second season in the league, didn’t take the comments lightly.

Coach Karl then took to Twitter to call him out, doubling down on his ‘overrated’ comments and stating that he wished his game was as efficient as Schrempf’s.

Hey @carmeloanthony let’s not do this. You’re telling stories that are 20 years old. Let’s move fwd

And u were overrated and u wish your game was as efficient as Detlef’s.

Anthony took the high road and just replied with some laughing face emojis, to which Karl clapped back by calling him passive aggressive and asking him what meant by that.

We all know you’re passive aggressive Melo so be real. What’s this mean?? https://t.co/nyy15v56Zw

Of course, this reignited feud has been pure gold and entertainment for NBA fans, but it’s not the best look for the aging coach.

As great a coach as Karl was, his constant power struggles with star players often created a toxic workplace dynamic in the locker room, but he’s not going to change his ways at this point in his life.
