George Karl is one of the best coaches of his time, but also one of the most controversial figures in NBA history.

Coaching and résumé aside, he’s known for his hot takes and his unapologetic nature, and he’s been quite harsh with his remarks ever since he joined social media.

On the one hand, it’s been kind of refreshing to see a coach call his former players or current stars out just the same way the fans do.

On the other hand, it has also led to some pretty wild moments, such as the countless shots he’s taken at Carmelo Anthony.

That’s why one fan wasn’t having it when Karl took to Twitter to congratulate Melo, calling him one of the best scorers ever.

The fan told him that he was backpedaling from his earlier criticism, adding that Denver didn’t even like him.

Truth to form, Coach Karl simply claimed that he has always been consistent with his thoughts and words on Melo, adding that he does love Denver, and that’s all that mattered to him.

Not at all. Been consistent for years.

And I love Denver so that’s good enough for me!! https://t.co/scoEEDmFpk

Karl has never said that Anthony wasn’t a good player, but he’s also been quite straightforward about not having a relationship with him.

He also took a shot at him by stating the Nuggets should retire Nikola Jokic’s No. 15, as he was the best No. 15 in franchise history.

Granted, some of those shots have been petty and uncalled for, but he’s also given Melo — who he called overrated when he first met him — his flowers.
