After destroying the Dallas Cowboys in Week 5 at Levi’s Stadium on Sunday, second-year quarterback Brock Purdy of the San Francisco 49ers has extended his regular-season winning streak to 10 games as a starter, which is remarkable, especially when you add two playoff wins on top of this.

Even though Purdy has been near perfect during his time as the 49ers’ starting quarterback, the 23-year-old still hasn’t gotten the respect he deserves for what he’s been able to do under center for the storied franchise up to this point.

After Purdy had arguably the best game of his career thus far against quite possibly the best defense in the league, former NFL quarterback Dan Orlovsky claimed that Mac Jones of the New England Patriots could do just as well under head coach Kyle Shanahan.

This led to superstar tight end George Kittle reacting to Orlovsky’s comments and sticking by his quarterback, via KNBR.

Jones may have been a Pro Bowler in his first season with the Patriots, but he hasn’t been able to accomplish much of anything since that first season under Bill Belichick, with New England now being arguably amongst the worst teams in the league with awful offense.

As for Purdy, he hasn’t missed a beat and seems to be getting better and better with more time as the team’s starter, which bodes well for the 49ers’ chances of competing for a Super Bowl this season, as it seems as though there’s no team close to being as good on both sides of the football right now.
