George Pickens entered the NFL with a fire lit under him.
Pickens was a surprising pick to some fans and analysts, and with some off-field issues looming, there was a general sense of unknown surrounding the young receiver.
Despite these doubts, Pickens has been a pleasant surprise on the Pittsburgh Steelers’ offense, even if the team hasn’t achieved what they’ve been looking for to this point.
Now that they have two new quarterbacks, Russell Wilson and Justin Fields, Pickens believes the team is ready to take the next step, as he told reporter Matthew Luciow.
“I just want us to be a great team, Super Bowl bound, just pushing, pushing, pushing for the greatest. That’s my main focus. Just a team goal, you know what I mean? I told you guys before I don’t want to make it about myself,” Pickens said.

Pickens has individual goals like everyone else on his team, but it is clear that he’s just focused on winning.
The Steelers are a historic franchise, but since Ben Roethlisberger’s departure, the team hasn’t been the same.
They have yet to recapture the energy and magic that helped them win a Super Bowl, but anything can happen in the NFL with the right mindset and players in place.
It will be interesting to see how the Steelers fare this season, especially knowing that the Cincinnati Bengals and Baltimore Ravens, their in-division rivals, have been reloading their own rosters, hoping to take the division title for themselves.
