The New York Yankees have not been very good this season.
They are one of the most disappointing teams in baseball this year.
We will not be seeing the Yankees in the playoffs this year.
So, it appears they will spend the last month of the season developing their young players.
That was why they called up Jasson Dominguez and Austin Wells to make their MLB debuts.
But, one veteran who is still putting up big numbers is Giancarlo Stanton.
He has always been an elite power hitter and is proving that this season.
In 86 games, Stanton has hit 22 home runs.
The most recent was the 400th of his career.
According to ESPN Stats & Info, Stanton is the fourth-fastest player to reach 400 career homers.
He trails only Mark McGwire, Babe Ruth, and Alex Rodriguez.

Stanton has spent a lot of time on the injured list in his career.
If that was not the case, he could have been at 400 home runs a while ago.
Stanton is 33 years old and you can see his body is wearing down.
He can no longer run well, and he is a DH only at this point in his career.
Stanton is still under contract with the Yankees through 2027.
But it would not be a surprise to see the Yankees try to get out of that contract much sooner.
Stanton can still hit for power with the best of them, but he does not provide much else.
