Earlier this week, the Milwaukee Bucks shocked the entire NBA community when they fired head coach Adrian Griffin.
The Bucks had a respectable record and were one of the best teams in the entire league but apparently, that wasn’t enough and Griffin was sent packing.
There has been a lot of talk about what went wrong with Griffin’s tenure but Milwaukee’s biggest star, Giannis Antetokounmpo, still respects and loves the man.
According to NBACentral, Antetokounmpo said, “I loved the guy. I invited him to my wedding, talked with him, and was coached by him. We did very, very, very well.”
Is Antetokounmpo speaking the truth or simply trying to play nice and avoid controversy?

Since his firing, multiple reporters have dug into behind-the-scenes tensions that have been building all season long.
Griffin reportedly clashed with Antetokounmpo a few times, including in the middle of a game against the Boston Celtics in November.
During that game, Griffin and Anteokoumpo were seen arguing courtside as the Bucks tried to score a win.
There have been instances of Antetokounmpo and other players disagreeing with Griffin and essentially coaching themselves, completely ignoring his directions.
Additionally, a pre-season clash with former assistant coach Terry Stotts didn’t sit well with many.
When he was first hired, Griffin had the support of Antetokounmpo and many players, including Damian Lillard.
He found a lot of success with the Bucks during his few months leading the team and obviously grew close with Antetokounmpo but that couldn’t save him.
Now Griffin is out of a job and Doc Rivers has swooped in to try and build on the team’s remarkable 31-13 record.
Will Griffin be able to find a different coaching job in the NBA soon?
More importantly, what will happen to Rivers and the team’s roster if the Bucks don’t meet their ultimate goal of returning to the NBA Finals?
