Giannis Antetokounmpo and the Milwaukee Bucks were struggling to perform in the playoffs prior to Jrue Holiday’s arrival on the team.
Following the defensive phenom’s addition to the team, the Bucks won the 2021 NBA title.
While many expected Holiday to finish his career with the Bucks, he was recently traded to the Portland Trail Blazers for Damian Lillard.
Considering Holiday was a close friend of Giannis Antetokounmpo, many were waiting for the two-time NBA MVP’s reaction to the news.
Per Chris Haynes via ClutchPoints on Twitter, Antetokounmpo wishes nothing but success to his now-former teammate.
“I wish him nothing but the best. He blessed me with a f*cking championship… F*ck basketball. F*ck the media sh*t. This guy is my brother for life and it’s always going to be like that.”

Giannis had a NSFW reaction, calling out the fake media narratives and, at the same time, making it clear that his relationship with Holiday goes beyond basketball.
Antetokounmpo thanked Holiday for helping him win the NBA championship in 2021 and wants only the best for him.
Holiday was a key member of the Bucks’ 2021 NBA title-winning roster.
As for his future in the NBA, Holiday is currently a member of the Trail Blazers, but he’s not expected to stay there long.
The Trail Blazers have entered a rebuilding phase following the blockbuster Lillard trade.
Holiday, on the other hand, wants to win another NBA title, and getting traded away from the Trail Blazers is his best shot.
Many teams have shown interest in Holiday, but no trade or contract buyout has been finalized yet.
With training camp right around the corner, Holiday could be traded to a championship contender sooner rather than later.
