Giannis Antetokounmpo remains one of the best players in the NBA right now.

The Milwaukee Bucks superstar is also viewed as a loyal star.

After all, Giannis hasn’t asked for a trade from the Bucks throughout his 10-year career with the organization.

However, many believe it could change in the future.

Antetokounmpo has been quite vocal about hinting at leaving the Bucks for another team.

But the catch is that he’ll remain committed to Milwaukee if they add enough help around him.

With that being said, Antetokounmpo’s comments about his future with the Bucks from 2020 have resurfaced.

Bucks analyst Ti Windisch reposted Giannis’ comments on Twitter.

Giannis in 2020 before signing the supermax:

“I do not know what the plan is. It depends on what decisions they make. If they make the right decision, I’ll be there for many years. If they do not, we’ll see. The NBA is [a] business and we take it day by day.” https://t.co/DNIAaxkn3f

In 2020, there were a plethora of rumors surrounding Antetokounmpo’s plans and he put the rumors to rest by signing a five-year, $228 million supermax extension with the Bucks.

Windsich brought back these comments in response to another analyst claiming that the Greek Freak is soft-launching his plans to leave the Bucks.

As pointed out in the tweet, Giannis hinted at leaving the Bucks if the franchise failed to build a championship contender around him.

The Bucks fulfilled Antetokounmpo’s desire, and he led them to the 2021 NBA Championship.

Keeping that in mind, the Bucks will most likely improve the roster.

However, they did finish as the first seed in the Eastern Conference last season so there’s not much room for improvement there.

Yet Milwaukee still replaced Mike Budenholzer with Adrian Griffin as the team’s head coach ahead of the 2023-24 NBA season.

It will be exciting to see if it will be enough to keep the two-time NBA MVP happy.
