The New York Giants had a rough go in their final preseason game before the 2024 NFL season begins as they lost to the New York Jets 10-6.
The Giants have largely struggled to generate any sort of positive momentum this offseason and could be in for another long year if things don’t turn around.
Head coach Brian Daboll has done well to keep his head up, though even he must be feeling some level of pressure to get the team back to its winning ways.
The Giants have an exciting young cornerstone to build around in Malik Nabers, though the rest of the team leaves much to be desired.
As the regular season approaches, the Giants will need to trim down their training camp roster and recently announced a series of moves to make them compliant with the league’s roster limit via Dan Salomone of Giants.com.
“Brian Daboll said the Giants released 10 players this morning ahead of Tuesday’s 53-man roster deadline: DL Kyler Baugh CB Breon Borders CB Christian Holmes DB Clayton Isbell WR John Jiles RB Joshua Kelley LB Trey Kiser RB Lorenzo Lingard OL Marcus McKethan WR Ayir Asante,” Salamone reported.

The group of players named were likely just bodies needed to aid with training camp practices, so these must have been fairly routine decisions.
There’s a chance that some of the players could be brought back on the practice squad, but it seems that the Giants already have a strong idea of who’d they like on the main roster during the regular season.
