The San Francisco Giants have had a strong season to date.

Heading into Sunday’s slate of games, they owned a record of 64-59 and were in possession of the second Wild Card spot in the National League.

However, the team is about to get yet another big boost.

According to Robert Murray, the Giants are set to call up their top prospect in left-hander Kyle Harrison.

The young lefty has recorded 20 starts at Triple-A Sacramento and has posted a 4.66 ERA with a record of 1-3.

On Twitter, the baseball podcast “Talkin’ Baseball” confirmed Murray’s report of the Giants calling up Harrison to the big leagues.

Harrison is expected to be a key piece for the Giants in the near future.

In fact, he will make his Major League debut on Tuesday night against the defending National League champion Philadelphia Phillies.

This is certainly an encouraging sign for the Giants.

If Harrison proves to be as good as advertised, San Francisco could have both him and Logan Webb at the top of their starting rotation as a solid one-two punch, which could give them a chance to potentially make some noise in the NL West down the stretch.

But it’s clear that the youth movement is on in San Francisco.

The Giants have already welcomed Casey Schmitt, Patrick Bailey, and Wade Meckler to the Major League roster this year, all of whom are set to make a major impact in the future.

The future is looking bright in the Bay Area as the Giants youth movement continues.
