After an incredible 2022 NFL season, in which the New York Giants were able to defy the odds, clinch a playoff spot, and upset the Minnesota Vikings, the storied franchise has come back down to Earth in 2023.

The team hasn’t been able to get anything right this season despite coming into the year with high hopes of improving upon last season’s result, with the Giants being plagued by injuries and inconsistent play on both sides of the football.

Coming into Week 9, New York is sporting a record of 2-6 with little to no hope of making a playoff push unless they can completely turn things around.

Although there isn’t much hope for a drastic turnaround in New York, the team will get two of their best players back on the field for the showdown with the Las Vegas Raiders at Allegiant Stadium on Sunday.

According to Mike Garafolo of NFL Network, star running back Saquon Barkley and quarterback Daniel Jones will be good to go to take on the Raiders this weekend.

For the #Giants: RB Saquon Barkley (ankle) had a full practice after being limited the last two days. He and QB Daniel Jones (neck) are off the injury report and ready to go against the #Raiders. OT Andrew Thomas (hamstring) was limited and is questionable but says he feels good.

Getting these two stars back on the field is a step in the right direction for the lowly Giants, but they will be facing a team as hungry as ever after what went down this week in Las Vegas.

The Raiders parted ways with head coach Josh McDaniels and general manager Dave Ziegler on Halloween, which has gotten the players fired up, especially with interim head coach Antonio Pierce now at the helm.

So not only will the Raiders be motivated to make a statement on Sunday, but Pierce will be coaching against his old team, which also adds a storyline to this game.
