For a while, the New York Giants have had to make do with an anemic passing offense, but those days could be over, at least to a certain extent.

They have a rookie wide receiver by the name of Malik Nabers who turned heads last season while at Louisiana State University, and he has been turning heads so far during training camp.

Connor Hughes, who covers the Giants and Jets for SNY, said that he has never seen a Giants wideout do as well as Nabers during training camp — not even Odell Beckham Jr, the Giants’ former star receiver, per Giants Videos.

Nabers, the No. 6 pick in April’s draft, caught 89 passes for 1,569 yards and 14 touchdowns last season and was named to the All-SEC First Team.

He could very well give New York their first true game-breaking wide receiver since Beckham left the team following the 2018 campaign.

Last season, New York was 28th in passing touchdowns, 30th in points and 31st in passing yards, and they struggled throughout the season to manufacture yardage and points.

Starting quarterback Daniel Jones played just six games because of a torn ACL, and they had to cycle through a total of three starting QBs as a result.

There is some hope that Jones, who has been a disappointment in his five NFL seasons, could see a boost in his production thanks to the presence of Nabers, and that the Giants in general could have the outline of a roster that will be competitive not too long from now.
