Against all odds, the New York Giants doubled down on their commitment to Daniel Jones this offseason.

Despite some early speculation and rumors, and even though the Giants tried to trade up with the New England Patriots to get the No. 3 pick, they decided to stick with the Duke product.

That decision didn’t sit well with most fans and even some members of the media, who have been overly critical of Jones since he entered the league.

With that in mind, Kay Adams asked Giants LB Bobby Okereke why he thought the fans should be sold on Daniel Jones like the organization is (via Up & Adams).

Why should the #Giants faithful believe in Daniel Jones as the definitive QB of the future??

“(DJ’s) just got poise. He’s faced a lot of adversity since he’s been here, scrutiny from fans, injuries… and to see his mentality and demeanor.” @BobbyOkereke @heykayadams pic.twitter.com/LVBzYQx1eQ

Okereke explained that the way Jones has approached work every single day of the week has made the teammates believe in him and rally around him.

He talked about all the adversity and criticism he’s faced since he entered the league, adding that Jones’ poise is what sets him apart from other players.

The Giants gave Jones an elite weapon to work with next season.

Drafting Malik Nabers should make his job somewhat easier, even though he won’t have Saquon Barkley to defer to.

This will be a make-or-break season for Jones, as the Giants could effectively decide to part ways with him after this season if he fails to perform at the level they expect.

GM Joe Schoen seems to be more than willing to continue riding with Jones behind center, but another subpar or injury-riddled season could cost both of them their jobs.
