Earlier this week, the San Francisco Giants made a decision to call up one of their top prospects in Wade Meckler.
The young outfielder made his debut on Monday against the Tampa Bay Rays, but was quiet offensively.
However, he made up for it on Tuesday when he picked up his first Major League hit in the bottom of the sixth inning.
It was a line drive to center field that got down for base hit.
After the hit was recorded, cameras panned to his family in the stands, who had expressions of joy on their faces and were clapping over Meckler’s accomplishment.
MLB posted the video of the moment on Twitter.

It was the first of two hits for the young Giants outfielder on Tuesday night, and it helped continue a three-run rally in the bottom half of the sixth.
The Giants would score four more runs to put the game out of reach and secure a 7-0 home victory.
But the story of the game was Meckler’s first career hit.
Giants fans gave him a nice ovation as he stopped at first base, and his family was part of that ovation as they cheered on the young outfielder after picking up his first big-league hit.
Meckler picked up his second hit later in the game as the Giants pulled away from the Rays.
But the first career hit is one that Meckler will never forget.
He had his family in attendance and the crowd in San Francisco gave him a warm hand.
