Baseball is central to the lives of many people around the game, especially to those who play it.

The players eat, sleep, and drink baseball 24/7 and do what they can to prepare for each game and each potential moment.

However, that doesn’t mean that there isn’t any time to enjoy some side hobbies.

In fact, a lot of players have things they like to do on the side.

For Mookie Betts, it’s bowling.

But for San Francisco Giants slugger LaMonte Wade Jr., it’s something else entirely.

The veteran slugger revealed that when he and his family have a night together, they don’t watch movies or play card games, but rather, they play ping pong together, via MLBPA.

Wade talked about his side hobby and how it’s something he takes part in during the offseason.

The Giants slugger meets up with his parents and his brother, and when they’re together for a night, they play a little ping pong with one another.

Wade says they play in the basement all night long, competing against each other and talking trash in an attempt to rattle each other.

Interestingly enough, his mother is very serious about her ping pong game, playing every day of the week.

She’ll play at open gym events on weeknights and compete in tournaments on the weekends.

She even had a national event at the Pittsburgh Convention Center when the Giants were playing the Pittsburgh Pirates.

This is certainly a fun activity that Wade and his family do together and is something that they also compete very hard in.
