The New York Giants headed into the 2023 NFL offseason with several contract disputes to settle.
They started by signing Daniel Jones to a contract extension and placed the franchise tag on Saquon Barkley.
Barkley has recently expressed disdain for the franchise tag and is likely to push for a different solution.
After the news of Barkley broke, another story emerged, this time with his teammate, Dexter Lawrence.
According to Adam Schefter, Lawrence will not be reporting to the Giants’ offseason program, which begins on Monday, April 17.

Lawrence is a four-year NFL veteran and was the 17th overall pick in the 2019 NFL Draft.
He is owed $12 million in 2023 but is slated to be a free agent after this season, pending an extension.
His talks with the Giants have stalled, and it appears that Lawrence does not want to participate in team activities until he is signed to a long-term deal.
After a season in which the Giants not only made the playoffs but won a playoff game in the process, the team is aiming for growth for the 2023 season.
While Lawrence was one of their top defenders last year, the team could run into a difficult situation if his contract remains unsolved.
Despite coming to an agreement with Jones, the Giants look like they are back to square one.
Will the Giants be able to retain both Lawrence and Barkley, with playoff aspirations fresh on their minds?
The NFC East has continued to get more difficult, given the recent success of the Dallas Cowboys and Philadelphia Eagles.
