When the New York Giants lost Saquon Barkley to the Philadelphia Eagles, it immediately left a gap in their running back room.
Barkley has been one of the best running backs in the league since he was drafted, and not having him on the roster is a devastating blow.
Fans wondered what the team was planning to do without him, and how they would possibly try to replace him.
Devin Singletary is currently listed as RB1 on the unofficial depth chart, with Eric Gray, Tyrone Tracy Jr., and Dante Miller behind him.
There was some hope for Jacob Saylors to make the team and compete for playing time, but according to Aaron Wilson’s latest report, that no longer appears to be the case.
Saylors was cut Sunday, along with cornerback Kaleb Hayes.

While Saylors didn’t work out, the Giants might have a decent running game on their hands after all.
Singletary is a longtime veteran and has proven to be a reliable pass-catcher who also rushes the ball efficiently.
There wasn’t a lot of buzz around Eric Gray heading into the preseason, but after his massive performance in their opener, he too, could be a viable option at the position.
The 2024 season could mean a lot for the Giants.
This is a team that has struggled with consistency for several seasons, and if Daniel Jones doesn’t right the ship, this could be his last chance as their starter.
Yes, they signed him to a four-year deal, but if he can’t get it done, they’ll be forced to turn elsewhere, at least when it comes to quarterback.
