After months of speculation, the Los Angeles Lakers did what everyone thought they would during the 2024 NBA Draft by selecting LeBron James’ son, Bronny James, with the No. 55 overall pick in the second round.

The Lakers brass made a few controversial moves this summer, starting with the team firing head coach Darvin Ham after two seasons and bringing in former player and ESPN analyst JJ Redick as his successor.

With the Lakers making these questionable moves during this NBA offseason, seemingly everyone with a platform and a podcast have chimed in on what is in store for the storied franchise that they have chosen to go in this direction after getting eliminated in the first round of the NBA playoffs by Nikola Jokic’s Denver Nuggets.

The latest to share his opinion on Bronny James and the Lakers is the always-outspoken Gilbert Arenas, who implied that the rookie guard will be nothing more than a towel waver on the bench for Los Angeles moving forward via ClutchPoints.

With a few games in the books since being drafted by the Lakers, Bronny James hasn’t done much to prove that the team made the right choice in bringing him in with their second-round draft pick.

However, few rookies really make much of an impact during the NBA Summer League, as it is their first taste of what it is like to be a professional on the NBA level, and that can come with a lot of pressure and nervous energy.

Only time will tell what is in store for the Lakers and Bronny James, as it would be safe to assume there will be a rough road ahead.
