After a forgettable first three games of the Western Conference Finals against the Dallas Mavericks, Minnesota Timberwolves star Karl-Anthony Towns became the target of much criticism amongst the fans and the media, as his shooting touch had seemingly disappeared in this series against Luka Doncic and company.
Fortunately for Towns, he was able to get back into a rhythm offensively in Game 4 with the Timberwolves having their backs against the wall facing elimination, as he hit some big shots from beyond the arc down the stretch to help propel Minnesota to a win in order to stay alive.
Although Towns made some clutch shots and helped the Timberwolves get to Game 5 back in Minnesota, he didn’t win over everybody with his play in Game 4, with former NBA star Gilbert Arenas taking issue with his performance in Dallas, via “Gil’s Arena.”
“They’re ice lowing KAT on the iso,” Arenas said. “Rudy’s posting up. And all three times he passed Rudy [Gobert] the ball…I’ve never seen the better scorer high-lowing to the worst post-up guy!”

Although Arenas is taking issue with Towns on offense, it has been the defensive side of the basketball floor where the veteran big man looks lost and seems to get into foul trouble every single game.
In Game 4, it was no different, with Towns eventually fouling out after committing many ill-advised fouls, but Minnesota had already gotten far enough ahead to hand the Mavericks their first loss of the series, 105-100.
Now the series shifts back to Minnesota for another win-or-go-home scenario in Game 5, where Towns will be crucial once again to the team’s chances of staying alive for a potential Game 6 back in Dallas.
