By this point, MLB teams have played four series in the 2024 season.
Most squads have faced relatively easy foes, intermediate level ones, and elite opposition by now.
It’s not much of a sample size, but is what we have at the moment.
It has to mean something when there are 30 teams in the league and only four are yet to lose a series.

There are a couple of contenders and also a few surprises.

The New York Yankees have the best record in baseball at 10-3.
They opened their year by sweeping the Houston Astros at Minute Maid Park, then won a series in Arizona and at home against the Toronto Blue Jays and the Miami Marlins.
The Cleveland Guardians are always competitive, but few analysts had them starting off their year with a 9-3 record.
They won three series on the road to open their campaign (in Oakland, Seattle, and Minnesota) and recently took the first one played at Progressive Field vs. the Chicago White Sox.
The Milwaukee Brewers being in this group qualifies as a mild surprise because of what they lost before the season: David Stearns, Craig Counsell, Corbin Burnes, Brandon Woodruff (to injury), and more.
Yet they won series against the New York Mets, the Mariners, and the Cincinnati Reds, and also tied a two-game set vs. the Twins.
The Pittsburgh Pirates are maybe the most shocking appearance on this list.
They opened the year sweeping the Marlins and winning a three-game set against the Washington Nationals.
Then, they won a series against Baltimore and took one of two vs. the Detroit Tigers
Technically, they haven’t lost a series yet.
All four teams will, eventually, lose a series but they are all showing they mean business this year.
