The Carolina Panthers have struggled mightily this season.
And while they may not have the personnel to compete at a high level right now– especially on the offensive side of the field — a lot of their struggles have had to do with their QB.
Bryce Young has looked far from the stellar prospect he seemed during his days under Nick Saban.
Granted that not all quarterbacks find success in the pros and that there are always growing processes and whatnot, but Young looks in over his head.
As a matter of fact, a graphic shown by ESPN and shared by Dov Kleiman reveals that the Alabama product has been statistically the worst QB in the league this season.

Should the Panthers temporarily bench Young for his own good? he’s clearly not ready. Maybe sitting and learning from watching for a few games will do him good.https://t.co/u2Zdiftp53 pic.twitter.com/MPQ9HapUJS

Through his first nine career games, Young has posted a Total QBR of 30, around 20 points lower than the league average.
He also ranks dead-last in yards per attempt (5.5) and is tied for 25th in TD-INT (8 touchdowns to 7 interceptions).
Kleiman asks whether the Panthers should consider benching Young for the remainder of the season for his own good, wondering if watching from the sidelines would be better for his learning process.
Truth be told, that’s not a bad idea.
He’s definitely not ready, and exposing him anymore could only break him.
The Panthers won’t have a first-round pick in the upcoming NFL Draft because of the trade they made to get Young, so it’s not like they can replace him next season.
Maybe they will be better off protecting him and not playing him anymore.
