The Cincinnati Reds might be the most surprising team in baseball this season.

One of the main reasons for their success has been their young players.

Cincy has not been afraid to call up their top prospects in hopes to make a playoff run this year.

They are coming off a 12-game winning streak that shocked the baseball world.

These young Reds look like they are here to stay.

According to MLB Network, the Reds have five young players who are making a major impact this year.

The most notable is Elly De La Cruz, who is the number two prospect in baseball.

He is a rare five-tool player who has taken the league by storm.

In only 17 games he is batting .333 with three home runs, 10 RBI, and eight stolen bases.

Also, he has already hit for the cycle in a game.

The Reds have a 13-4 record since calling De La Cruz up.

His impact has been immense for only being 21 years old.

Another great rookie is infielder Matt McLain.

He has played 37 games and is hitting .325.

McLain has 51 hits on the season and 20 of them have been for extra bases.

The 23-year-old has a slugging percentage of .541 and he has established himself as a stalwart at the top of the Reds lineup.

Not only are the Reds NL Central contenders this season, but they should be such for many years to come.

Cincy struggled for many years but some key draft picks and international signings are starting to pay off.
