The New York Yankees are one team always looking to make noise at the trade deadline.

Missing the playoffs is unacceptable to the Yankees and their fanbase.

But they might be headed that way this year.

New York is 49-42 on the year and are eight games out of first place in the AL East.

But they only sit one game out of a Wild Card spot.

With the trade deadline coming up on August 1, many contending teams will be buyers.

One popular name that every team would love to add is Los Angeles Angels star Shohei Ohtani.

With the Angels struggling, they could look to trade Ohtani before he hits free agency this offseason.

According to Buster Olney, the Yankees are expected to be the “most motivated” team to acquire Ohtani.

This led The Game Day MLB on Twitter to share a graphic showing what a Yankees lineup would look like with the two-way star.

Adding Ohtani would make the Yankees one of the favorites to win the World Series.

He is an elite left-handed power bat and can be the 1B pitcher to 1A Gerrit Cole.

The Yankees lineup with Ohtani in it is scary.

He could bat fourth, right behind reigning AL MVP Aaron Judge.

That would give the Yanks the best one-two punch in baseball.

Also, that short porch in right field at Yankee Stadium would be perfect for Ohtani.

He would be able to hit pop-ups that can go over the fence.

It would be stunning to see Ohtani on a different team this year.

But if the Angels do not think they can re-sign him it might be best to see what they can get in return.
